Statement of Commitment

VueReal Inc. ("VueReal") is committed to providing an accessible environment for all clients, partners, employees, job applicants, suppliers, and visitors who may enter our premises, access our information, or use our services. VueReal believes in integration, equal opportunity, and independence for people with disabilities, and is committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Ontario Regulation 191/11), as well as the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Purpose and Scope

This policy outlines how VueReal achieves accessibility and meets its obligations under the AODA. It applies to all VueReal employees, volunteers, contractors, and any person or organization that provides goods, services, or facilities on VueReal's behalf.

Accessible Customer Service

VueReal is committed to providing services that respect the dignity and independence of people with disabilities.

  • Assistive devices. People with disabilities may use their own assistive devices when accessing our services or premises.
  • Communication. We communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their disability into account, and will work with the person to determine what method of communication works for them.
  • Service animals. People with disabilities accompanied by a guide dog or other service animal are welcome in the areas of our premises that are open to the public, except where excluded by law.
  • Support persons. People with disabilities accompanied by a support person may access our premises together with that support person, and will not be prevented from having access to the support person while on our premises.
  • Notice of temporary disruption. If there is a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities used by people with disabilities, VueReal will post a notice promptly, including the reason for the disruption, its anticipated duration, and a description of alternatives, if available.

Information and Communications

VueReal is committed to making company information and communications accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Upon request, VueReal will provide or arrange for accessible formats and communication supports for people with disabilities, in a timely manner that takes into account the person's accessibility needs, and at no additional cost.
  • We will consult with the person making the request to determine the suitability of an accessible format or communication support.
  • VueReal's website and its content conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA, in accordance with Ontario's accessibility laws. Where content does not yet meet this standard, we will work to remediate it and will provide the content in an alternative accessible format on request.
  • Any publicly available emergency procedures, plans, or safety information will be provided in an accessible format or with appropriate communication supports, as soon as practicable, upon request.

Employment

VueReal is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.

  • We notify job applicants and the public that accommodations for disabilities are available on request during the recruitment, assessment, and selection process. Applicants selected for an interview or assessment will be informed that accommodations are available on request, and we will consult with any applicant who requests one.
  • Successful candidates are notified of VueReal's policies for accommodating employees with disabilities when an offer of employment is made.
  • We provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees who have a disability, where the disability makes it necessary, and, with the employee's consent, share that information with anyone designated to assist them.
  • We maintain a written process for developing documented individual accommodation plans for employees with disabilities, and a documented return-to-work process for employees who have been absent due to a disability and require accommodation to return to work.
  • Our performance management, career development, and redeployment processes take into account the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities and any individual accommodation plans.

Training

VueReal provides training on the requirements of Ontario's accessibility standards and on the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. Training is provided to all employees and volunteers, to anyone involved in developing VueReal's policies, and to anyone who provides goods, services, or facilities on VueReal's behalf. Training is provided in a way that best suits the duties of the person being trained, is delivered as soon as practicable after they commence their duties, and is refreshed when changes are made to this policy. VueReal maintains records of the training provided, including dates and the number of individuals trained.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

VueReal maintains a multi-year accessibility plan outlining our strategy to prevent and remove barriers and to meet our obligations under the AODA. The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every five years, is posted publicly, and is available in an accessible format upon request.
